Patleo, after having been denied permission I never went there. I found the replies interesting and to each his own.

Maybe the employee is off base. A lot of people are afraid of lawsuits and armed with a release of liabilities and a promise to not make news where your finds came from they might not be so difficult. If they flatly say no you did your best to stay legal and honest.

I am proud of you cgode... if there were more people like you that took the right path, then more spots would open up for the true respectfull people. I remember 35 years ago being able to contact land owners on a personal level on the spot and getting permission to play hunt fish or just get out and enjoy the outdoors. I would offer my help with the working of livestock or painting of a house or whatever helping hand was needed. it still works to this day but on a guarded level. times sure have changed but never give up because there are still individuals out there that would love the company.

To see so many people on this site that say they would hunt the property without the owners permission is very disappointing. I don't know why I expected better, but I did.

Take your son with you to the nursery office and ask permission a father out with his children opens a lot of doors. The same goes with hunting and fishing.

Cgode,

After reading your posts and replies over the last year or so I have no doubt that you did not go without permission. I guess what prompted me to respond was that last year during deer season one of the guys on the lease shot two spikes and had a friend tag one of them.......when my 10 year old said "dad I thought we could only shoot one buck" of course there was no good answer to that one from me or the guy who did it.

You all have a merry christmas and if you ever get to texas give me a shout I have a couple of good places to hunt.

Take care

Pat

You're right on there, Dennis, I wouldn't even waste time with a letter...makes it way too easy to say "No". They can't see you, size you up. I'd say no too. Show up in person, let them see your face, see that you're just a regular nice guy, people have a harder time turning you down.
