Question
Ive got my Ohio typology pretty down pat, and now i want to work to be able to identify the materials of my finds, ive looked on the internet and all over for some sort of lithic guide with no luck, does anyone have an idea of where to look or a book to find that has the information i need? thanks

Get this book, check out local collections at shows and publications and ask questions. Also many museums and archaeologists are better at raw material ID than type ID.

Ohio Flint Types by Bob Converse is a pretty good book as well

You can find it many places on the net, amazon, ebay etc. Or you can buy it directly from the Archaeological Society of Ohio website

Here you go Cole. You can get both books at these links. The one Paleo_Joe mentioned is the Bible for midwestern flint and chert types in my opinion.

If you wanting to just ID materials then the DeRagnacourt book is the better one. If you want an Ohio typology guide that has about 20+ pages of material at the back then get the Converse book. I have both.
