Where to start

I am very new to arrowhead hunting. I was
hoping to get some advice on the best way
to start. I wouldn't mind a pay dig now and then,
but was wondering if any one has had much
luck walking some of the south Texas rivers
Or lakes. Any advice would be appreciated

I'm sure the Texas guys will be along soon to give you some advice, but I've seen some of the pieces these guys finds in the creeks, rivers , and lakes in Texas is it is just incredible. So yes, walking those would be a good idea.

Here's a good 5 part series from this site that you might find helpful.

How to find arrowheads!

I started out looking along the edge of a lake. Points wash in from their original location. From there, I started on a shallow river and looked on sand bars and gravel bars in the water. Grubbing is another way to look. Scooping gravel into a shifter from the bottom of along the shoreline.

I'm not very good at grubbing but it pays off for alot of people.

Hope this helps you get started.

Thanks

Has anyone had any luck on the Guadelupe?
This might be a dumb question, but if you
grub, do you just start at dome random
gravel bar?

When grubbing, look for a spot where the water could push the points into a a confined area. Bend in the stream, gravel bar where the river is split into two streams, etc. You have to get in the water and face the bank so warm weather is better for me.

There are others on here that are much more experienced than I.
