Buying collections

I hit the buy it now button on e-bay a few nights ago on some Columbia river points. I don't normally buy artifacts but I could not help myself I just hope there as nice as they looked in the photo's.

I bought some nice Columbia River pieces a while back and they were very nice. They were small, but very nice.

I've started buying on eBay and have been very satisfied. If the point is high-end, I will not bid unless there is a no questions asked return policy of 30+ days and the seller has been around a while and has high positives. For cheap points I'm willing to occasionally roll the dice. FWIW, I've only had to return one point that upon examining it under the scope and UV I determined that it had been re-chipped. Finally, I only buy types and material that are from my area and for which I am familiar with.

Dennis, here is the Columbia River pieces I have.

The first 4 pictures are pieces I bought and they are from the Frank Buehler collection.

The last 2 are pieces that were given to me by one of our great members.

I love the little Birdpoints and the materials they are made from.

I've been at it awhile, and it's always fun to get that box in the mail. You just never know what it will be . . . Monday I got a perfect Cody knife that I picked up for virtually nothing; last week I got a box full of points that all turned out to be plastic casts! Ya just never know!

I have a lot of CRs, but many are personal finds or purchased from long ago collectors. I have never bought an artifact from the 'net.

Great stuff Steve

Your collection of Columbia river stuff looks great. This is the only area I have ever collected from and your trade beads and copper beads look real nice. Have some just like them and it is fun to see yours. Many thanks and you guys are quite right our points are mostly small under 2" and all kinds of different stone materials.

Nice trays Steve after seeing yours I was afraid to open the package when it came. But I'm real happy with my purchase.
