Carter law? need info
Could anyone tell me what the current law is on surface hunting arrowheads on a state of texas owned lake. Toledo bend, actually owned by sabine river authority, us forest service owns surrounding land on north end. PLEASE if you no please share.

Technically - very illegal.
Practically - hundreds of surface hunters scour Toledo Bend for artifacts every year, and it is rich in them. Stay away from State Parks and don't carry a screen or shovel, and you should be good. If you DON'T want to look over your shoulder, call your State Senator and tell them to vote for Senate Bill 1516, currently pending before the Natural Resources Committee! |
