I have been trying for a couple of years to get artifacts from all 50 states and I have 39 now, but I am finding that getting the northeastern states is proving to be very difficult. For one, the lack of hunters on any of the artifact sites, and for two, none of them want to turn anything lose. I check out three different artifacts boards daily and I bet I can count on both hands the hunters from the northeastern states.

Yea, we are few and far between Steve....I'm trying!
I got a few tips on a couple of new prospects...today as a matter of fact...and will be investigating them soon. If I can get a few more to my collection....I can't even fill a frame right now, how sad is that...I am still keeping your goal in mind....at least to try and take Ct. off your list for ya.

clovis

that's the lone picture of it. when i said fluted points, i meant we each had accumulated one each. haha sorry. when i go home for my small summer break, ill take some more pictures of some other pieces and this piece.

steve, i think the reason why it's hard for you to get these pieces from us northern folks is because of the rarity. i find an actual whole point maybe one in 10 trips. most of my things are sandstone tools and very rarely do i find a hardstone piece or even any piece worth significant value. because of this rarity, i'm sure you can understand why it's hard for you to get these pieces. if i find some cache or some good spots, i will most certainly help you, if you are missing new jersey from your list.

"unfortunately, this is the north east and people here are not all that friendly....I can say that because I've lived here all my life....and nobody wanted to say boo about where they hunt or even engauge in a conversation.I've been down south and WOW....what a difference...people for the most part where very friendly and kind, it was quite refreshing to say the least."

Good ol' southern hospitality, know what you mean. I've been up your way a couple times and honestly I kind of liked the way people keep to themselves and don't go out of their way to get into your business. I've been through all of NE but Maine and the further north you go from NYC the better it gets. I could only deal with a few hours in NYC, where they definitely live up to their rude reputation but further north people seemed to be genuine and less confrontational. Jmo.

that's agreed ghost. there are certain spots. here in the hudson valley it's a good mix of all things with friendly and well-spotted farmer's markets and artsy places- it's been nice living here. but i also attended school down in southeastern virginia where i didn't necessarily feel welcomed. haha all places have their highs and lows.

I have to agree with southern hospitality. The souther guys have really hooked me up well. I had guys from Texas send me numerous very nice pieces and then two guys from South Carolina and Louisiana both sent me well over a hundred Points and Tools for free. Neither wolud accept a trade or money. I was blown away by their generosity.

I do have some pieces now coming from Rhode Island, Maine, and Connecticut so I have those out of the way. The only northeastern states I need now are Vermont, Delaware, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. I also still need Nebraska, Nevada, and Utah from out west. I don't figure I'll ever get Hawaii, but you never know.
