I'll keep it short and sweet. Sounds like you might have some field tests from your post?
It was said, I think, in gest that "Arrowheadology" was a misnomer. The term "arrowhead" implies bow and arrow. All the lithics we find are found by Jane and John Doe but are usually the "first time to be seen" for a thousand or more years. Go us !!! I am a firm believer that lithic study is a ripe fruit here!

Well put Mud!!!! Figure that there is only a handfull of archy. digs going on, at any one time. And I bet more than a few started out as someone like us finding something realy special! If it weren't for us beating the bushes the pros wouldn't have nearly the bulges in there proverbial game bags! Yes I have a little experiance with atlatls,
I have been interested in them for a few years now, and finaly made my own this year. I have also been an avid bowmen since I could draw a bow. |
