The older I get the further away the ground gets.
Or at least it feels that way when I fall.
I don't bounce near as good as I used to.

Just don't try to use your table saw with one hand! My frames can wait.

lol....I know what ya mean Palmwwod...no bouncing here either!
The "log" was actually a tree suspended in the air by about three feet, it was either under I go, or over......I made the wrong choice....I got a good look at the underside anyway!...of course, what's the first thing you do after paying the price for stupidity?.....look around and see if anyone saw ya.....I was safe in that department!
I still had to get back to the kayak and get the heck outa there, that stunk!.ouch!!.....I'm rethinking broken hand, still hurts A LOT and can't move my fingers without a whole lotta things coming from my mouth.

No table saw for now but the good thing is your frames (all three now) have been finished with the table saw evolutions as of yesterday.....yea!!

At least you found something.

I made a trip to the river bank one day last week and had a similar experience. The water had been up for a long time this spring and had really changed the bank and the path down was totally washed away. I started down the hill and I had grabbed hold of a tree branch to help me down easily and the darn thing broke and I slid about 30 feet on my butt down the slope. There was a big tree across the path and luckily I looked up and saw it just in the nick of time and laid flat going right under it. After I got up and looked around to see if anyone was rolling on the ground laughing, and luckily no one was near to see, so I headed down the river to the good spot. I stepped off of one level of the bank to a lower one and my boot and leg went in almost to my knee. I did have to pull my foot out of boot, try to stabilize myself, and then reach in and get my boot. I hunted for about 35 minutes and decided it wasn't worth it and climbed back out with 2 pieces of flint to show for my troubles.

Like they say, sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. I was a bug that day. lol

Awww that Sucks man!!! You should at least get an x-ray and some pain killers. Then YOU'LL be posting effigies by tonight

Hoping for a speedy recovery and I am sure you'll always remember "two brokes" in one day.

I hope everything is ok and you heal up quickly for the 4th of July festivities. Also, watch out where you are stepping when walking through tall weeds. I once stepped knee deep into a ground hog hole after walking back out of a field after a hunt. I had my camera with me and it went flying out of my hand and disappeared into the weeds somewhere. I was almost sure that it was a goner but I was able to find it after looking for about 10 minutes.
