Calling all Arizona Arrowhead Hunters!!!!!
I need some advice on arrowhead hunting in Arizona. I will be taking a trip with my family to Arizona in August. We will be flying in to Phoenix then staying around Tucson. We hunt arrowheads all the time in Texas, but need help in Az. 1. Is it legal? I dont mind bending over to tie my shoes 500 times a day, I just want to know beforehand. ![]() 2.) Can you hunt the mountains and caves? 3.) Since Az is mostly desert, what are the clues to where the Indians would have camped and hunted. 4.) Are there any topo map clues that I could start researching? Thanks to all in advance. |

My aunt lives in Tucson.
I love it out there. Sabino Canyon is a nice hike for wildlife viewing. The mountains to the east are nice. I don't know about artifacts. I think you should levitate, after dark, with your invisibility cloak on. ![]() If you go down around Dragoon you might check out the The Amerind Foundation and take a picnic lunch. |

It is going to be HOT in that area. 120+ degrees is common that time of year. I would be heading to the higher elevation in the mountains.
