Sabine river? Need some suggestions.

Just curious if anyone ever hunted the sabine river? Has to be some killer spots, but where would you go about starting with so much area to cover? Any suggestions would be appreicated.

Sabine river is very hard to hunt for sites. One the Sabine river has moved alot through out the years and the sites are not where the river is now.Not saying their is no sites along where the river is now but is just hard to find them.I always look for the major creek that flow into the river.I look for where spring fed creek flow into major creeks. Most times camps will be up along the spring creek before the major creeks.I can find sites with a typo maps by looking for high ground and look for right soil comp and spring creeks that flow into major creeks.

I spent some time looking just south of the 69 bridge outside of greenville Only found a few chips. If you go look out for cotton mouths they are every where!!

Not much in the river itself, but there are camps alongside it for its entire length.
Hey Brett I live in Greenville too. We need to meet up for a hunt sometime!

You could try looking on high areas close to nearby oxbow lakes(especially any fed by streams), that way you at least know the course is somewhat old. I'm sure rivers by you change more frequently than ours because of all the flat ground, but usually i try to check any meandering spots surrounded by ribbon-like ponds to make sure it's an ancient course.
