New camp question for the experts

Question: I am going to check out a new place this weekend and has never been dug. The property is situated north of San Antonio but is at least two miles from the river. Now I am told there are two springs on the property. My thought is if there are springs there should be at least one camp. Is this a correct assumption or would it be too far from the river?

Good possibility! Flakes will tell! Good luck! All we hunt and dig here are mainly springs!

If you can find the Convergence of two creeks. On the high side.90% of camps will be situated at the fork,,,,atleast from what I have found,,,,and Charlie is Correct. When I look for flakes on a new site I call it "Looking for signs of Life"/////c

I'd be curious to see how elevation and abundance of water affected campsite densities/disbursement. I live in an upland area with probably half a dozen 8-15 foot wide tributaries feeding a 30 foot wide river in my town alone (with dozens of perennial streams), and don't really know where to start. Do formulas like this generally work only in regions where water was scarce, or does water usually equal sites?
