Vevay, Indiana

I was just offered to hunt a piece of land in Vevay, IN by a co-worker today. Of course, it's an hour plus drive from our house. Wish I could find something closer. Anyways, does anyone know if there are a lot of artifacts in Vevay? It has a creek, but none of the land is farmed. There are some woods. Just wondering if it would be worth the 90 minute drive.
Thanks!

Hi Steve,
It is in Indiana, but I think you go through Kentucky to get there. It might be on the Ohio river, but I'm not sure. I know the property is not on the Ohio river, but the city might be.
Thanks,
Don

I have some family from just north of there, it's Switzerland County.

You'll find archaic stuff on ridges, woodland and Mississippian material in the bottoms near creeks or rivers. A lot of what is known about the Kirk cluster came from this area because if several very dense sites that were excavated years ago.

When they put the casino close to there, they uncovered several sites.

Thanks Joshua. Sounds like it might be worth a shot, especially with a creek. Your advice makes it sound tempting.

Yep, it can't be that far from you and you can always try to hit a spot on the river if the water is low.

Sounds like a plan guys. Probably even camp there overnight. Just need to find some time when there is no sports for Hannah!
