Dry, Dry & More Dry
Went out this morning to scout a few creek beds. Evidently, I'm scouting up the wrong creeks. There seems to be a huge layer of black dirt then maybe a little gravel. The creek beds have some limestone in places, but watching the walls I found no signs of habitation. the soil on the banks is very loose, and will probably wash out considerably with the first good rain (if we ever get one). I walked for several miles according to my GPS, but not a single flake or anything else that looked made by ancient man. Lots of small petrified wood. This area is riddled with converging creeks that when the water table is up, are spring fed.
There's lots of rolling fields that have been recently turned, but nothing showing except small pieces of rotted (my term) limestone.
What am I doing wrong? in the past, when I lived closer to Austin, even though I didn't find a ton of points, I usually put myself on flint shards and maybe a heart-breaker or two!
