at the Falls
Your Humble narrator at Fossil Falls, Sunday October 23, 2011. I love visiting this place that the ancients found very favorable...

Great picture. Are those basalt boulders you're standing on? I'd imagine the area is obsidian rich.

This area is a major obsidian quarry that was traded for hundreds of miles around. I found a killer rose springs down in that river bed while hiking about 15 years ago. The type site for rose springs is about 12 miles north of these falls.

I've been there once, beautiful place!!!!! I loved how the obsidian flakes cover the ground there. Too bad about that fence, wouldn't you like to go way beyond it!!!

Looks like a cool place to explore. Find many fossils?
