I'm heading down early in the morning , staying 2 days. I'm a grubber, so i'll have to get used to the "SURF-ASS" hunting! lol ALL INFO APPRECIATED.

Go at low tide and follow the line of rocks and debris exposed by the receding surf on the way down, then check the "high line" on the way back. Not much flint at all, so flip every rock you see! And watch for "distractions" the first few miles!

The distractions part has me wondering though.,. hmmm, is it gonna be blondes in t-backs, or the old rock police, or ,,i hope not the old naked dudes distraction...lol ive heard something about that one! i'll keep my eyes to the ground for sure.

The first few miles north of High Island are a nude beach and have been for years. Mostly a hangout for geriatric ex-hippies who should never disrobe under any circumstances! LOL

If you accidentally saw that you would need therapy for the rest of your life!

lol@ it all. One of those beach worn clovis' would make my trip a good one for sure! I need a change scenery,., but a naked old coconut drink drinkin' hippie might be a tad much! but i've got all my photo equipment charged and ready.. so i'll be sharing my experience! Not scared of no hippie,, i got a sharp stick and one of those pea shooters as well,, in case they go to trippin'!

I hope you're driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle, easy place to get stuck and help is a long way off. I got my pickup stuck there once, lucky to get it out, the incoming tide was lapping at my bumper.

If you come in from the east end, Sabine Pass, you won't get stuck, don't have to meat gaze, and it's more productive for artifacts.
