National Museum Of The American Indian Pictures

Thought I'd post some pictures I took of some NMAI displays in D.C. from a couple of years ago. Imo their South American displays were most impressive. I spent most of my time staring at gold effigies and really interesting pottery from SA. The northwest and into Alaska harpoons and effigies were really cool as well. I was pretty disappointed at how scarce the flint was. It's a huge space with three or four floors and besides a few random frames they have all the flint in a large cabinet with slide open displays. Honestly I see better flint here than what they had to show. Still well worth a visit if you're in D.C. The glass and lighting made for some difficult conditions for getting decent pics.

That's the same way they have the flint displayed at the Red River museum in Idabel, OK., where Perino has some of his flint displayed. I expected way better than that.

Great pics Ryan.
