Just so happens "Santa" AKA Camiel got me Prehistoric Chert types of the midwest by Tony DeRegnaucourt and see no mention of red dutch belt flint ridge but haven't gone through whole book yet. There is a flint ridge point with similar color. Pretty piece!

No Bud I have'nt heard heard of it. Maybe Red Dutch belt is more an area than the material description......although it does have red in it..... lol. Some folks are guilty ( myself included) sometimes use more localized names for stuff than technical. I do know someone who has bought fromhim and they have een good pieces. I don't believe he's a Hunter/collector... just a seller....but I would'nt swear on that.

That piece doesn't look good to me. It doesn't look like most Cobbs I've seen and the red color seems artificial.

I also don't like how he has it pictured on a COA, but doesn't show the whole COA (plus, it looks like a Baker COA, which I've heard shouldn't be trusted).

I think he may be comparing the color and pattern to dutch belt cattle, they are those exotic cows that look like orea cookies. Black on the ends and white in the middle. Lol, just a guess.

It looks like Nethers imo, I've seen some with that look and the red looks artificial and painted on but it's just a natural pattern and color that forms in that particular grade of Flint Ridge. I agree it doesn't really look like a classic Cobbs but nothing about looks wrong. JMo

Similar piece of Nethers Ridge on the right imo.

Well, he didn't sell it so that says a lot. His listing reads like it's Flint Ridge Flint from Indiana. There isn't a Flint Ridge in Indiana that I know of. Is there?

Also, from the prices of his other pieces I'm surprised he sells anything. Way overpriced in my book. At his prices I must have half a million dollars worth of artifacts at my house. Sounds like I need an armed gaurd.
