Digging tips

My family is going to be buying some land in Powell county, so I'll finally have my own place to hunt at. I was thinking about starting digging. How would I decide what area on the property is best to dig at? The property is mostly hilly, I don't think there is any water or large flat areas.

I would start By Surface hunting the area,,jmo
I know this might seem like simple advice,but you got to find out if the Indians were even there.
