Display Case Background Color?

I bought my last display case from steele's in Ohio and got a 12x18 for $27 plus $10 shipping and thought that was a good deal but its time for some more. Just wanted a few opinions on whether to get velvet or foam? Or what color shows the best. I am leaning towards red velvet.

Try a black or dark blue material for a background.

I think it depends on the color of your artifacts. If they're white a dark background contrasts well and vice versa. Jmo.

I don't have much white. Mostly pet wood. Blue sounds ok

Red or royal blue velvet on top of foam is an excellent choice for lighter colored material. Just think about what contrast and color you need to make them pop! Dark colored points need light colored background and vice versa.

I used red for a long time until I tried Black now all of my frames are oak with black felt. I just like the way it makes my material I find stand out. I rarely find true black points so all of the root beer, white, and edwards show up good.

Very light blue is a good choice. Most all colors show up well on it.

Hard to beat the artifacts you've got on those b&w backgrounds, crispy g10'ers, the whole lot of them.
