Heading to Starr Jan 28/12....I hope....

Came home from work on the 20th, found the furnace dead..at -40. No problem...furnace guy came right away and replaced the motor. We'll just pack tomorrow after we warm up...
Woke to a cold house. Guy left wires dangling that got caught up in the blower. Luckily I have enough wherewithall to figure that out myself...

Very pleasant drive down through Montana, Wyoming, Kansas, Oklahoma. Had to co-ordinate picking up a dog at Dallas airport...and the plane (AA) was 4 hours late. Not pleased. That forced us to drive through the night to get to Columbus, TX...just in time for my wife's seminar to start...no sleep.

OK...so now on to my stuff! But ...no rental cars locally. None. So I'm stuck in a motel all day that would require extensive renos to be called a fleabag.

So...my wife just dumped me in Katy, theoretically I should have a rental waiting after I kill a few hours here at McD's.

So...on to my original point...I'm heading for Starr Ranch as soon as I get wheels, later today and maybe into tomorrow. So if anyone else plans to be out there, say hello! I'll be the out-of-breath, lost-looking guy with the beard and Purina hat.

Good luck! You might surface a few after all the rain we had this week. Best digging we found was up on top of the hill, south of the pond and across the gully from the parking lot.

Hey Mike, just a quick report on how I did the last two days. The best is a freakin killer Darl three and three quarter inches long and very narrow with only very minor tip nick, a Pedernales with a reworked graver tip, a multi-facited hard stone mano, a nice unifacial flake knife with round base, several scrapers, a nice well made spokeshave, and several broken bases/blades. Your tools are waiting at Craig's house and good luck!

You know, MM, next time I head out there I'm digging with you! You seem to know where they are!
