I saw on Facebook where Matt Rowe asked you who made the Snyders, so if Matt believes it's a repro then it more than likely is. Also, it doesn't look like there is any grinding on either of the early Archaic types and that throws up a red flag with me. Both the Dove and the Hardin should have heavily ground bases.

Lack of bevel, grinding, two with material that looks exactly the same, the tri looks way off from what little I know about them. Hard to know anything for sure from a photo but I'd be way skeptical as well.

The little arrowpoint doesn't scare me, that doesn't mean it's good, just that it isn't as bad as the dove and snyder. The hardin looks off as well, but not to the same degree as the dove and snyder.
If you got them all from the same person, I'd stop buying relics from him. |

Hey Joe, Welcome to the forum! I guess it doesn't look good for your artifacts shown,
but at any rate, I look forward to your posts. I live in High Ridge, but work in Florissant (off and on) P.S. I'm sure I've seen your footprints a time or two in the creeks

My immediate impression was/is repro on all four. In my opinion it looks like someone did a poor job of trying to put some patina on them.

The three larger ones were all bought by the same person. The small bird point troubled me because I haven't seen that type before, and because its so thin, without much patina.
I am still kinda new at this, obviously. AT least now I will probably just stick to hunting. lol Last edited by JoeWoodStLouis; 07-23-2011 at 04:27 PM. |

Joe, I have a few fellas I rely on to ask questions about purchases that I trust. I link them to the page I find with the items for sell and get their opinion. Pop me a message and I will give you their names so you don't run into this problem in the future!
