Christner's Newbie

I am making my second trip to Chrisner's tomorrow. I made my first trip back in September, and was like a kid in a Candy store. Very overwhelming! Can anyone offer pointers to help keep me focused on a few areas? Any thoughts on the pit reopened for digfest in October? Open invitation to anyone else that feels like skipping out on work!

My advice is walk Chrisners from end to end and just look for yourself where you want to dig. There are out of the way places everywhere and the place is just loaded. I usualy like to work away from everyone else but pinging around where ever you see substantial holes already can sometimes produce quickly at CCC. The dig fest trench has produced points but I'm not saying where I would dig! FYI Craig who owns Starr Ranch is also an Aggie! That place is what Chrisners was ten years ago! The vast number of points coming out of Chrisners are clunkers punctuated by the occasional best point ya ever seen! More Corner Tangs found at Chrisners then any place on the planet is the general consenses. Your chances of finding a really good point on any given day has to go to Starr though I believe. If you can hunt on Thurs. or Fri. let me know. Those days are when Rock hound Taylor and myself dig.

My best finds have come from Bills camp. I am also partial to the perd/ paleo camp where digfest was the year before. I was at digfest this year but left in the am before I got to dig due to rain and have not been back since (not because I havn't wanted to) so I cant say what has been found there. good luck and happy hunting!

Thanks for the advice. Here is what we found two weeks ago. I think I will try again tomorrow! I am at least encouraged. A couple of those sure made nice would have beens. I don't have an idea what the j shaped tool would have been used for, but it seems to show good use.
