My Etley Site Finds

I posted on a different thread about my hunting buddy buying the land I have been hunting for 23 years. I found a site about 2 years ago when it was logged and flint was exposed where they dragged the logs. We have been working the site and have about a 40' circle uncovered. The site runs along a ridge for about 400 yards as best we can tell so far.

This is what I have found, and he has found approximately the same amount. The center piece was unfortunately found in two pieces but at least I have it all. It's 3 7/8" long for reference.

Cant wait to see what we find now that we are going to be able to clear the ridge.

There is a draw running directly below the site (if you tossed a rock over your shoulder from the etley site it would almost land in the water). Like I said I have been hunting this place for 23 years. I have never found anything etley related in the draw. Odd.

These are typical finds from the draw. Obviously there is more than one site on this land. Cant wait.......

Very nice, looks like there is a Woodland/Synders camp somewhere close. Probably on a lower terrace from where you are hunting.

Point to the left of center piece is a very nice one also. Corner notch looking heartbreaker in the 11:30ish position. Maybe others left it at another time? Really nice ones coming out of draw!

It is easy to understand your excitement towards future prospects. Those are some mighty fine looking artifacts. I'm excited for you now too after seeing this. Good luck to you and your buddy.

Classic finds of what one would expect to find from a site producing Etley/Smiths! The peices remind me of what I've been diggin' on my Etley sites. No suprise that multi cultural groups liked this place with water so nearby,,some non-Etley related killers, WOW!

Thanks for the info and post, goodluck in the new year.

You should get some diggin' footage for youtube, BTW
