Got the hook up!!

Well after years of surfacing my paleo spot, it's finally get to dig it! I met with the "man" yesterday and it's on! 2 Folsoms, a killer Goshen, 2 Scotties, and multiple broke Clovis points and a very well known Clovis grouping have been found on this 150 yd stretch! We get to hand dig, sift, whatever this year! I'm pumped up! We are going this eveving, so the first sand/clay will get moved on this pristine site today! I'll keep y'all posted, you know it! We are going to tap into this place and it's a dream come true after 12 yrs! I feel blessed just to go! Wish me luck, we start today and then go back Sunday! It's time for a nice full paleo, this is where that Midland/Goshen fragment came from by the way!

Man, Cluton, that's great news for you. I hope you guys tear them up! Can't wait to see what you find.

Be careful with that back though.

So, are you saying this is an intact multicultural paleo site?

Shoot SmokyHill, it'll be alright, just think of the treasures to be found. Who would care about the possible knowledge to be gained. (or lost?)

Yes and no! It's actually a huge sand hill almost surrounded by 2 creeks! An old road is cut down to clay cuts right through it! It's never been dug or sifted! So the layers are intact, but the road that cuts through has exposed all different types of Paleo artifacts! So yes it is a multicultural paleo site! It's a spot that doesn't produce huge amounts of points, but when you do find one, it's a doozy! I've been waiting 12 yrs to get a sifter in there! I've personally seen a Goshen type point, a Milesand, and numerous broke paleos found on it! That's were my fragment of a paleo point came off of 2 weeks ago! The old-timer that used to hunt it when the road cut in found 2 Folsom points, about an inch and a half long on both! The Clovis stuff I've never personally seen, just pictures! And they were unbelievable! I've also found a huge broke Scotty in there about 3 yrs ago!

I would say multicultural! It's an exciting camp!

And Flintchip, there is a reason we get to dig it! I won't get into that at this time, let's just say it may not be there in the future! So, we get in there and get what we can, and do the best we can at records and keeping the site collection in order! Mark Adams had a sandy paleo site last year that was multicultural with all kinds of different paleos coming out! It was an awsome deal, and I'm sure he did a fine job at recording everything that came out! You do the best you can in situations like these, and I feel blessed to get in and see what really is in there!
