San Patrice Points, In Ohio

I'm sure that got some peoples attention. lol

These weren't found in Ohio, but they have made their way north and are now nestled comfortably in a nice warm tray in Ohio. These are the San Pats I have acquired in the past year through buying and by gifts. I have really gotten smitten by this Point type. Very nice Paleo Points.

The top 3 are from Texas and the one on the top left I got from Lewis Smith and was a find of Chad Gilberts I believe. The middle one and the one on the right I got from Clifton Porter and were personal finds of his in east Texas. All of the others are from Louisiana and were a gift from one of our great members when he sent me all the my pieces for my Louisiana tray.

The second picture is my current Texas tray and the last one is my current Louisiana tray. Pictures were taken today.

Those are nice Steve. One of my favorite types too. I'm really glad you like them

None of those are first stage, but are typical of what is found. You might have to look at 10,000 to find a first stage, they are ovate leaf shaped. Those people were VERY frugal with the limited rock found in the area.

They are the most common Paleo type in the piney woods of east Texas; up here in northeast Texas we find more Daltons than we do San Pats.

Yeah, I really do like them Roger. They are becoming one of my favorite southern Point types. I forgot to show the San Patrice Blade you gave me as well. I just noticed it in the tray up by the Pelicans and Daltons.

Thanks Charlie. I do love those Texas Points and Blades. My goal is to get a decent Cornertang and then try to quit buying them. lol

I would love to get down that way and hit a dig or a creek or two. Lewis has given me an open invitation and I may just surprise him one day.
