Antique store, Ebay, Trade

Some stuff I've acquired recently via Mailbox, Antique, Ebay, Trade:

First up an Ebay Hopewell Core, One of my best, I was the only bidder and got it for $10. It's big, 2 1/4 x 1 5/8 and a very high grade Flint Ridge...an incredible Blue/Gray that doesn't quite come through in the pics...and smooth as silk.

Next an antique store purchase....some nice stuff, got them real cheap, a few still have old glue on I need to pick off...and one's a fake( or at best a re-chip), there's a few clues if you look closely, shouldn't be too hard to pick it out....was told they are all from this area.

Buckeye,I didn't realize that flake cores kept a value.I have a couple of flake cores I have found that look similar to the one you have posted. I will be very interested to see what kind of offers will be made for an item such as that one. Eric

Nice acquisitions. That core is a really nice example. What state is the triangular point in ? from?

That red basal notch is a cool looking point. Is it the rechip? Flint crush in the notches maybe.

Eric, cores are a fairly sought after type to some collectors. Especially gem grade Hopewell examples and paleo cores. Jmo

They sure do, from what I've seen most go for around $20 and up depending on quality.
would like to see yours, I might be interested if you're selling. I also just posted some books for trade in the selling forum here as well.

Thanks Ryan, I was hoping you'd see that core...the triangle is supposed to be from Stark county, Ohio.

buckeye you say one is a fake or rechip , this is interesting and i would usually never bother to look for a fake because i dont usually buy , but it got me looking to see if i could spot it , and the only one one i could see was the last one the red one . is that the one you were talking about and if not could you explain your reasons for your statement or thoughts
