Spotter's

Or whatever they call the people they hire to watch over construction near or on a archaeological site you know the guy propped against a tree in the shade that knows nothing and does nothing . Here in El dorado county ca they like to seal a site . That is push dirt over the top with a D9 and then build on top To protect the natural resources give me a break . Hey call me Ill come over and spot for you free of charge and pick up those dirty old artifacts This is turning into a rant LOL . What started this was a friend called to talk about a highway widening project that passes threw a Camp.

We pillaged a road widening project along Hwy 108 near Sonora a few years back. No watchers at first, but it didn't take long for the archies to get involved. Too late, lotta nice side notches were purloined away. They didn't like that at all, but it's first come first served I always say. Once in a great while a local contact pays off.

went to the casino after a fire one day , all my life i have heard how all the documented sites from back in the day were buried to keep people from pillaging them , i never knew how much stuff was actually on a site until after that bulldozer came in and cut a road through a camp for the fire fighters to use, omg unbelievable the stuff it uncovered, the stuff was layered as deep as the cut, and deeper i am sure, mostly broken pottery and flakes but i saw broken points everywhere, i asked for permission from a friend to search the bull dozed stuff , no go, it was interesting to try and imagine why all of the stuff was layered like that but i guess if the camp is there for a couple thousand years its not that hard to believe
