I think #2 is a Sudden Side Notch based on the notches being up high. Related to the NSN. Are those all Owens valley points? If so, nice variety of materials. 98% of what I find there is obsidian. Nice points.

Those are some sweet points! There are several types of mid to early archaic types of side notched points in the Great Basin besides NSN AKA Bitteroot. There's also Hawken, Rocker, Sudden and San Raphael. There's probably other types in California too. But like Eric said that one is a dead ringer for a Sudden.

Thanks guys. I'll have to look up the Sudden SN. #3 is the only Owens Valley
point. That came from the river, on a sandbar. All others came from points north and east. Thanks again. |
