id north carolina finds

Hi Yall, and Thanks Mods for letting me in.

I just started hunting arrowheads this past late fall 2011. So I'm new to this.
All these were found either in a creek, or small river, and bottom land.
This first photo, Black/Gray Points all was found in a creek near by. The second photo Tan Lance? found in soybean field, point in the river next to the bean field. I just got through looking on the overstreetid, and I've looked other places too. Not much luck finding out what type and period these are from.

Most every spot of land is no till. So I'm going to be purchaseing some new waders to get back into the creeks.

Also could anyone recomend a book, or anything that would help me id my own stuff? I'm in North Carolina so anything that would be on articats in my area would be awesome.

Any tips for having more luck locateing these would be great.
Thanks and I hope be be looking at all yalls finds.

I forgot to upload what I think is pottery. Found it in the river next to the bean field.

Pecks Place Publishing :: Indian Projectile Point Types from Virginia and the Carolinas

This is a decent inexpensive guide to start with imo.

Looks like mostly archaic stuff. I'm not sure about the top left ( Kirk maybe ) or bottom right in the first pic. Looks like some Guilfords(narrow lance like) the black chert piece may be a Guilford stemmed. Second pic looks like another Guilford on the left and a Stanly. Jmo. There are some NC guys here who can probably be more specific than me. Welcome aboard.

Welcome from another NC collector!
From the top pic, you have on left, a Morrow Mountain II, and a Guilford. Bottom row- Kirk and ?? tip made of nice looking material. Second pic- Guilford and Stanly. 3rd pic- looks like a piece of pottery.
What county are you from? I'm in Warren. Here's a good chart that will cover most of our point types. You must allow that they also resharpened points so the shape changed as they were exhausted. But thanks to Dr. Coe, we have a pretty solid typological sequence here in NC.

Thanks ghost recon & Aboman for that info. Aboman I'm located in Surry. And thanks for the chart. I'll check it out. I love walking the creek banks, and streams. Maybe in a couple days I can get back in the water if I can get some waders.

Got this off my buddy while ago. He wanted to trade it to me. Not sure what it is, looks sorta like a Savanah. He said he found it in Aarrat Va.
