Covington Resurrection
It appears looking at my collection from Nueces River in Uvalde Co. that the type formerly and belovedly referred to as Covington is more than a simple preform but was a specialized knife in it's own right. If not then how can the form being consistently used and reworked into the a-symetrical "Banana Blade" be explained away. These are my examples:
![]() It just seems to me that if it consistently demonstrates in use wear and rework that this would imply it is indeed a valid type. Where is my logic faulty here?

I think your is thinking correct!
many performs have the shape of a Covington! That's the reason! Many Covingtons could be Base Tangs, Knives, sharpened Crescents, and to be honest, performs for points! I believe they could be anything a native wanted them to be!!.JMO!!! Because of the shape, multi-usable!! nice wording I know! You get my drift though!!
