Lightbulb Guy Brothers Wisconsin Wing Bannerstone

This past weekend down at Springdale I was able to get a piece I hadn't seen in 20 years. David and Wayne Guy lived in Pinckneyville, Illinois and collected artifacts for the better part of sixty years. David Guy found this banner in May of 1931 at the age of nine years old. They told the story that Byron Knoblock from Quincy came and took pictures of the bannerfor his book. He tried to buy the banner all afternoon but David didn't want to sell his prize piece. To keep people from finding the banner Byron put it under the Charles Gay collection. Charles Guy was David and Wayne's father. He also listed the piece as being half drilled so no one would go to much effort to find it. Byron thought that a 16 year old boy would sell his banner. David kept this banner until 1987. I was happy to bring this piece back to Southern Illinois.
