This is the Best Forum

I started lurking here about a year ago. I joined a few months later when I realized how many friendly, knowledgeable people participated. This is by far the best forum that has ever assembled. It is a great place to learn and meet like-minded ( artifact addicts ) people.

I am calling out to all participants to make a sustained effort in maintaining the gentlemanly standards that helped bring us all here to start with. Lately there has been several threads that run off in the ditch.

I don't have another forum to call home and don't want to see this one break down into something that I left behind at other forums.

Let's all shake hands and come out learning!

Certainly the best forum, by far.

I agree! Very fine people and gentlemen (and ladies) make up this forum! No doubt the finest, and sometimes we don't agree 100%, but it does make you think about it! that's the cool part!

In my opinion we are all here for our hobby and our love and appreciation for all things artifact.
There are plenty of other forums and places to discuss politics and religion, and it they should be discussed there, not here. I agree with Palmwood.

Politics, who cares?, sex, well I'm married (enough said), money, don't have enough to worry about, and religion, well it's good, but not worth offending!!!

I agree 100% Roger. Over the past several years I have been a member of many different artifact boards to only see them fall by the wayside. A few of them like T-Net, PROSB, Treasure Depot are still around but the participation is very light. You can make a post and not see but one or two responses over several weeks.

When I first joined here I had a feeling this site was going to be a good one because of the comraderie that was displayed here amongst it's members. It has since grown a lot larger but yet that same feeling still exists here. Sure we have disagreements every now and then, but like a family we usually get over it and move on while still remaining friends.

If anyone ever sees a thread that is going astray all you have to do is contact a Mod and we will check it and take appropriate actions. I am usually one here most nights very late. I just recently lost my job due to a layoff and since I was working midnights I spent most nights on here all night long. I'll still be on here late since I still can't sleep at night so anytime something doesn't seem right just PM me or any other Mod and we will take care of it.

This is definitely the best artifact board I have ever been on. Lots of wonderful people on here and some of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, some personally and the rest just through here. Without a lot of the great members we have here I never would have completed my states collection as quickly as I did.

Thanks you all for making this an awesome place to discuss, share, and enjoy our wonderful hobby.

I've been on the internet over 25 years (sad, huh?) and can tell you that there are certain static things you can expect to find with any online venue. Any time you get a large assemblage of people into any place you are going to have differences of opinion. Any time you get a large assemblage of people into any place you are going to have brilliance and stupidity - it's quite a chore trying to dissect which is which sometimes. I'm not sure where I fall in the mixture, you'll have to figure that one out.
I think I'm a nice person, but I'm not so good at diplomacy or "cliques".

Good words guys - there are so many areas represented, a lot of diversity.
We all see things in a slightly different light.

One thing we often forget - these threads are read by many eyes --- men, women, and a number of youth.

Palmwood,

Very well said sir. I enjoy talking about other things, but the reality is that we've all seen feelings get hurt and level of conversations drop to a less than courteous level.
