Here's current blue book value on it (High Standard H-D Military): 100% ($625), 98% ($500), 95% ($425), 90% ($330), 80% ( $230), 70% ($150), 60% ($125).

If the gun has been fired at all it's not 100%. It would probably fall in the 98-95% range if it's in great condition, has no visible wear, etc. $500 would be a decent price for it, but I wouldn't consider it a steal. They are great guns and highly collectible.
