My Mailbox Loves Me!!!!!!

I got two points in the mail Monday that just made me jump for joy. Both were EBay purchases, and both were obviously authentic - at least, as far as my untrained eye can tell (but my eyes are getting better and better!). At least, they are both authentic enough that I will give them a lifetime guarantee of authenticity to the buyer! Honestly, if I kept purchased pieces at all, the drill would be going in my frame. But this fall has been very hard on my wallet, so I need to pass these on as quick as I can!

The drill is an incredible piece that I was the only bidder on. As soon as I got it in hand I realized what a deal I'd gotten! It is heavily ground, has no fresh hinges or crushing, and very nice polish and use wear on both faces. It was found in Lyons, Tennessee, according to the seller.

The "Spoonbill" Dovetail is apparently out of Iowa, but that is all the info I have on it unless the buyer can decipher the site code written on it. It is made of heavily patinated Burlington with excellent flaking and use wear; consistent coloring, wear, and texture on all faces of the point. Dove collectors really ought to go for this one! (Kenny Hipskind, you out there?) It measures 4" in length.

I am asking $250 on the Dove and $125 on the Drill, or $350 for both. Any takers?

I don't have the money right now, but in a week or two I MIGHT be interested in the drill. Something I find worrying, though, is that I can't find any info on Lyons, Tennessee. From what I can see it doesn't exist.

That was all the info on the auction, and the seller was a pawnshop owner - he may well have gotten the town name wrong, or misspelled it.

I believe it may have been Lyons County, TN.

Any offers? I'll go $220 on the Dove and $100 on the drill.
