clovis arrowhead necklace

i knapped this clovis out of jasper from mook station, australia. they call it MOOKAITE. its very hard, so i heat treated this rock in my own fire to make it workable.

that also changed its color to this attractive red maroon purple combo.

this point was knapped with an ishi stick and sandstone abraders. it has a heavily ground hafting area and is fluted on both sides. I drilled a hole in the blade with a diamond bit. this point is mounted tip up, because i think its more recognizable as a clovis that way.

the mount is solid sterling silver and was also made and soldered by me.
the included necklace is 18 inches long and solid sterling silver with a lobster clasp.

$41.00 plus $2.00 shipping. email wilz9@yahoo.com if yer interested in this one of a kind piece.
you won't find one of these at the mall.

here's one for you texas fans-its a miniature corner tang knife i knapped from an anciently heat treated flake of burlington chert i found in an indian camp.

i like the idea of an indian leaving this flake unfinished--then thousands of years later another person finds it on a riverbank and finishes it.

its got some nice flaking for such a small piece. if you think it might be hard to knap tiny arrowheads, try drilling a hole in one without breaking it.

i made a small sterling oval mount for this one and included is an 18 inch solid sterling silver chain with a lobster clasp.

$35.00 plus $2.00 shipping. email wilz9@yahoo.com
