Wanted to buy...authentic Fort Ancient birds

Hey guys and gals,
I am looking to buy a small riker frame of authentic Fort Ancient bird points, maybe a few bone pieces or even bead or shell.Nothing too crazy, just a nice small tray of true mound builder history. If any body has anything they are looking to sell or know of someone who can point me in the right direction, please give me a shout. Thanks in advance.
Eric

Check out the set that I just posted - I have a ton of small triangular arrowpoints, let me check the provenance on them. They could be Ft. Ancient culture.

Thanks for the reply,Indiana. I took a look at your sale items, and there are a couple that have the long serrated ft. ancient look I am seeking. Most of the others have that short triangular look like some Madisons you see.If it helps any,Steve Valentine has posted in the typology section, some nice examples of what I would be interested in. Thanks again,Eric

That's the stuff I am talking about. They look to be good examples of the more elongated and serrated pieces that the ft. ancient culture used. Our Madisons tend to be more squat with no serrations. We also find little to no bone or shell pieces here in southern illinois. At least the area I am familiar with.Very poor soil conditions compared to surrounding states. Thanks for the reply MCS.If you have any other ft. ancient pcs and are willing to part, let me know, and maybe we can work something out.I am pretty new to collecting and don't do too much purchasing of points,so I hope not to insult any one who has replyd to this thread. Thanks again,Eric

I will look through what I have and see if I can find anymore. Give me a couple days. Sundays are good for me to get stuff pictured and I will shoot you some pics. Ft. Ancient triangulars seem to be real popular little points.

Thanks for taking a look for me. I have a couple of different options going at the moment and don't want to committ until I see what all the possibilities are.I will let you know one way or the other though. Thanks,Eric

Is this what you're looking for?

I bought this frame last year, and I think someone ID'd it as fort ancient. I don't even know what the fort ancient refers to?

Thats a nice frame of points and bone.Fellow board member Steve Valentine has an article on this website about the ft.ancient culture. They flourished around the same time as the Cahokia mound builders we have here in Illinois, but thought to be a seperate culture in itself. The effigy mounds they built are quite something.Do a little research on them ,and I think your frame of points will be even more special to you.THanks for the view!
