What kind of ceremony did they use that for?

Looks like one of those Duck River Swords (if it's authentic). A bit overpriced, but a nice piece nonetheless!

Let's see.. no COA, no closeup pictures showing detail, and it has no real providence aside from "Ohio river". Also, the fact that your first post is trying to sell an expensive item is a red flag to me. You're not the first person to join here and make a thread about the ultra high grade Clovis/blade/artifact thingy you have for sale.

Hi Dowdy,

If you are serious about selling your piece on eBay you should probably send it to an authenticator before you try to sell it. $25 is money well spent in this case.

For what it's worth, it looks like a Ramey knife made from Mill Creek chert. Lots of authentic ones have been found in Southern Illinois and lots of fake ones have been made as well.

Or take it up to the Collinsville, IL show in March. If it is an authentic, well made 9.5 inch Ramey knife, I'd think you could do better than $3,500.

Joshua

Here's the problem I have with this. The very first post you make on our site is to try to sell something. You don't introduce yourself, say you've been looking at the site for a while and decided to join, give us any background on how long you been collecting or anything like that that most all new members will do. Instead, your first post is to try to sell something, without a COA my you, for $3,500. Seems to me the ONLY reason you joined our site is to use it to make money and that my friend I have a problem with.
