Tesoro Vaquero Metal Detector

Well I thought I would give my fellow arrowhead addicts first shot at this before I fleabay it. I bought this three years ago when I had a little gold fever after finding a sweet little nugget while looking for heads. It probably has less that 20 hours on it. Look at the reviews they are bad to the bone little unit for the money. I would take $300 for it and throw a little point in for the shipping and you would walk away with a steal.

Man, that sounds like a great deal. If I had the cash, I would jump on it. I have a Tesoro Compadre and it is a very solid (inexpensive) unit... good for coin shooting.

Another great thing about Tesoro's is that they only take one 9v battery as opposed to units that take like 8 "AA" batteries. The little black cap/plug at the end of the arm support end comes off and is a perfect place to glue in a Neodymium magnet for testing meteorite candidates.

I would also recommend this purchase for anyone wanting to get into metal detecting. This is a steal.

I paid about $600 for my Vaquero and another coil, hell of a good deal.

I often take mine with me when I hunt in the desert, it's a surprising light unit and you can swing it for a couple of hours without really feeling it like some of the older/heavier units I've had. On some of the sites where I have to camp for a couple of days, I detect in the evening after the sun goes down. (If you've ever buried a tool while digging, it's pretty nice for that as well.)
