The Jim Bowie Days Indian Artifact Show . . .

This show is an overlooked Texas gem. It's been going on for seven years now, and will be moving to a newer, more spacious venue next year. Bowie is NW of Dallas and about 26 miles due north of Decatur, TX. There were probably about 30 tables or so there this year. I didn't take a whole ton of pictures, but I did take my whole family with me this time and we had an excellent trip (even if lodging and feeding for 4 cut into my profits a little bit, LOL!)

Our family cat wanted to go with us, so she stowed away in the suitcase! (She was caught and evicted before we began packing!)

We arrived in Bowie about 6 PM and set up my tables, then went to the Bowie Rodeo. We couldn't stay too long, but we did catch some of the fun . . .

My wife and girls waiting for the show to begin.

Parading the colors, Texas style!!

And of course, we had to hit the hotel swimming pool before dark!

I didn't get around and snap a ton of photos this time, but I did take these pictures during the show . . .

Continued . . .

This is a neat piece my friend Kenny Robertson bought at the show . . . I think it is authentic and ancient, but not Native American. I was hoping someone who knew Central American stuff (Ahem, Josh Ream!!) might tell me if it looked Mayan or not.

I sold a fair amount of stuff at the show, but I also came home with some neat pieces. I picked up quite a bit of alibates! If anyone wants any of these, let me know by PM . . . otherwise, they're going on EBay tomorrow evening!

This drill is amazingly thin!!

This very small point has incredible, Cody-style flaking!!

I have no idea if this mini-tang knife is real or not, but the material is unbelievably pretty! Love that alibates!!

The show was a blast, the table fees are reasonable, and the folks are very friendly. I highly recommend the Jim Bowie Days Indian Artifact Show to all comers!!!
