Midwest Artifact Collectors get-together

The Midwest Artifact Collectors social group met up yesterday in Jamestown, Ohio. There were 6 members there, including fldwlkr, loudog, Buckeyedon, jdneill, rick507eng and myself. A big "Thanks!" goes to fldwlkr for providing the meeting place with lots of room to spread out our stuff! Now he has to post some of those pictures he took!!

It was great to see all the pieces and hear all the stories! I was especially fascinated by the similarities in materials between jdneill's collection and my own.

Thanks again to everyone for showing up and sharing their collections, experiences and knowledge! I learned a lot!

Mark

Had a great day Saturday in Jamestown! Great bunch of guys to talk to and share info with, everyone seemed to have the passion for the hobby. I now can put faces with the names also. It was great to share and compare artifacts from different locations.Special thanks to Tim (Fldwrk) for providing the room. And thanks to Elvis (OHROCKHEAD) for getting it set up, mega cudos to both! Hopefully we can have another one with more people ! Lou

If we do this again, I suppose it would be a good idea to PM everyone in the group to make sure they see the thread.

Sorry, eddies!

Had a great time and put some pictures over in our group album. There is a similar thread in our group page and I commented on some things over there. Rick507 has an amazing collection of 3/4 groove axes. Shrinkmj has a roller pestle as big as my forearm! Loudog's collection from his farm had some very nice material in it. Don brought that cool Ohio lancelot. Jdneil's collection was very colorful and that was the first birdstone frag I have ever held. I had some unfluted clovis in my hands too. I know I'm leaving stuff out but it was a lot to process.

Must have food and drinks next time.
