Mailbox finds In the recent insitu finds section

I just noticed this... To me Why would you have Recent finds and insitus In the same section with mail box finds?... When I click on that section I am hoping to see some fresh finds, and insitus... If you had a seperate section for bought items I doubt i would ever click on it... Night and day to me... JMO

I agree. I think most people want to see recent additions to other members collections regardless if its a personal find or not. It makes it easier to find them all in one location. JMO.

I used to have no understanding as to why someone would want to buy artifacts. It really had no interest to see what someone bought. And then... I had 2 bouts with bladder cancer. 4 operations and bi annual exams to see if the cancer had returned that is beyond what most have ever considered. Just imagine having a 3/4 " garden hose inserted through your penis.

I recovered. Then I lost the use of my left leg. Had 2 broken vertebrae and my lumbar area seperated from the rest of the spine. Surgery and 1 year to get back to close to where I was. Shortly after I tore my left bicept from the shoulder. Another surgery. In 2010 I had 4 surgeries. Tumor on the Pancreas and complications.

I have not been able to physically hunt for artifacts consistantly since 2006. I haven't cured my artifact fever and really haven't tried. My only fix has been to buy points.

The thing I looked down on is now my source for completing my Texas collection. So, let me warn anyone who disapproves of "buyer" collectors that you better be careful in saying, I'd never do that. It happens folks.

I like seeing what other people have found. It no longer matters to me if it's a personal find or a mailbox find. I enjoy seeing the types of artifacts people collect.

Sorry if I've stepped on toes but I think you will see over time that your opinions can change with life experiences.

Chad

just a suggestion

I always thought bought finds.... fell under buy, sell ,and trade. I just think it fits there better than in the recent finds and Insitus... It was just a suggestion and not an attack on anyone, or thats the way I meant it...

Chad very sorry to hear your story...

I enjoy looking at the recent finds and insitu's and I also enjoy seeing what people are purchasing. I think it may make more sense for purchases to be placed in Arrowheads and Indian Artifacts section instead of the Recent Finds section. JMO It's 15 degrees out today, I have no chance of a hunt before April even then I may only find 24 artifacts in a year so I get pretty stoked when I make a good purchase. It helps to take the edge off when I can see what others are adding to there collection.

Recent Finds & In-Situ (15 Viewing)
Artifact show-and-tell. Show 'em just as you found 'em. Don't forget the stories that go along with the pics! Share your acquisitions too.
This is why they are in there. Maybe we could make a forum just for them, but I guess it's easier to just combine them since they are kind of "new finds" for the person receiving them.

I generally do not look at mailbox finds at all on any forum. But I look at all marked InSitu.

I'll mark all my bought stuff "Mailbox Finds". It'll give a heads up to those that don't want to see different types of artifacts.
