Game Of Thrones

I saw where Indy had posted on his thread of pictures of the Arkansas show where his wife was reading these books and I wondered if anyone else has read the books or watched the series on HBO. My son just turned me on to these last week and downloaded the first 9 shows of season one and we watched them all in two days. Very impressive show and if you are into the Middle Ages this is a must see. I will have to warn everyone though, there is a lot of violence and quite a bit of sexual activities, so if you are offended by this sort of thing I wouldn't recommend it for you.

Here's a link so you can check it out.

I have not read the books (or any other book in over 20 years!!), but a co-worker here raves about the HBO series and i am dying to see it. Can't wait until it comes out on dvd, since we don't have HBO. Dexter is also a very good HBO series.

I watched them all too, I enjoyed the series and recommend it if you like that sort of thing. Last night was the season finale. HBO puts out some good shows, I also like True Blood which resumes next week.

I am too cheap to spring for HBO, but on DirecTV we get the occasional "Freeview" weekend. That's where I caught the first episode of "Game," and I saw the books at Hastings. I devoured the first one in about four days, and have now read all four - I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Book 5 next month. I will just say one thing to all you non-readers out there - the book is ALWAYS, ALWAYS better than the movie! And, if the series does follow the books fairly closely, you guys are in for some bumps in the road next season!!!!!

Mike, I agree. That pissy little boy King and his mother need to go. Way to much power to give a child.

I am also watching Camelot. I can't believe Morgan actually thought she could get the Throne that easily and she just let the Nun take the fall. How about her changing into Quinnevere and sleeping with Arthur, her own brother. She is one sick puppy.

Both shows are great.

I've read them all and it's one of my favorite book series. Martin is an excellent author with a talent for revealing depth in the characters lives, which in turn makes them more believable. IMO.

I watched an episode and a half, than lost interest, I thought it was boring. Nothing on tv comes even close to Breaking Bad imo, except maybe The Sopranos.
