The first part came from a maternal great grand father, the second part has been in the family a while. Although, some Irish guy on an island in NYC changed the spelling a couple of generations back.

Mine came long ago from the punch line in a joke that my dad liked. He started calling me "two dogs". Over the years it evolved into Tdog.

My last name is Gibson. So, ever since junior high Gibby has kind of stuck with me.

I love that joke Tdog. That is hilarious your pops called you that. Must have had a pretty good sense of humor.
