Shell casing I found

This is just a pic from the side view, I cant get my camera to focus on the end to show the casing stamp. But this what is stamped on it, W.R.A. Co. 45-75 W.C.F. From doing some research on the internet W.R.A. stands for Winchester Repeating Arms company(which I knew), the 45-75 cal. is from a Winchester 1876 model. I will try and get a better pic of the stamp but I was just wanting to get some comments from any old gun collectors or ammo experts out there in arrowheadology land. From what I have read this was the first real accurate hunting rifle and buffalo hunters used this rifle a lot, the thing is I found this shell casing in the same spot where I have found many scrapers and some points, so basically what I am thinking I have found a spot where Native Americans where active in trade. Its just cool to think about the past when one finds old relics as this. I'm starting to ramble so I will end it there have a happy 4th all.

Thats a very cool find and actually pretty amazing the brass has not rotted away. One of the coolest things I found metal detecting civil war site on private land was a Spencer 56-50 lead bullet. Found a few mini balls that day as well but the spencer bullet was by far the coolest and most rare of the bunch found that day.

Nice shell casing sandhills and it is old ...as you stated it was made for the Winchester Model 1876 rifle.

However I doubt that your casing is related to any trade with NA's due to the fact that most Winchester center fire cartridges were not headstamped previous to about 1885.
