I've been thinking about this for some time now, and I'm curious what other members might think.

What would you think about having a registry of members (one would join voluntarily) that would provide other (perhaps those with over 200 posts) members an avenue to solicit a professional opinion. This would be completely non-artifact related and more to the subject of ones professional career.

At times I think that people need to consult someone (a professional or expert) just for guidance and to know what they need to do next.

What I am proposing would be for those of us willing, to provide in a reasonable amount, a little free advice. We could be reached by PM and any other communications could be arranged from there.

For example, I am a design professional and consultant for residential and light commercial structures. I personally have no problem with offering this type of "service" to my fellow members.

Perhaps I am naive. What do you think?

We might need a limited liability clause.
I don't want to give electrical advice and later read about a widow and her electrocuted do-it-yourself husband's funeral. Or their pile of ashes that was a home only yesterday.
