Drive-in Revival...

Just thought I would share this in a world of big screen LCD televisions.

Drive-ins are all but gone around here which is a shame. Kind of like a family/social event most of us have fond memories of. My wife and I have been messing around with a $37 kids toy projector "The Eyeclops" connected to my iPod touch projecting onto a 40x32 piece of light silver matte board. Granted you have to be in total darkness and the pic is blurry, but we fell in love with the idea. Been watching it every night. So I am a tech nerd and found an affordable LED projection unit that fits the bill. Plenty of good reviews. Granted it isn't going to compare to a $800-$1000 projection unit BUT those bulbs only last @ 3,000 hours and they cost big bucks ($150!!!). Not a worry with LED.

Benefit to this kind of setup? Well, not only can you have a 70+" screen in your office or bedroom, but take that puppy outside and hang a bedsheet! Take it camping and plug into a power invertor in your car... you get the idea.

60x60 Pull Down Screen $50
60X60 Model B Manual Screen Wall/ceiling Matte White:Amazon:Electronics

Favi RioHD LED-2 Mini Projector $200

I will be hanging a screen today if FEDEX tracking is accurate . Ordering the projector next Friday... Man, we can't wait!

I'm sure there are a lot of folks on this site that were conceived in the back seat of a car at the local Drive-In.
