Nice pic Kirby. This heat wave is getting old. It was 82 this morning at 9am when I stopped hunting. As long as it doesn't move inland a tropical storm or hurricane would be nice right about now, suck in some cooler air from Canada.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

It appears we have a tropical storm headed this way............we have not seen any appreciable rain in months.....actually over a year.

Bring it on!

The Weather Channel said it would take 15 to 25 inches of rain in some parts of Texas to get out of drought conditions. They said it needs a long soaking rain over a period of time and not copious amounts over a short time which would just run off and cause major flooding.

At this point, I think we would all would appreciate any form of rainfall. The crops have already failed, the pastures have turned brown, and the stock tanks for the most part are dried up. It really is a bad situation.

In most cases, this sort of storm would bring a steady, soaking rainfall.

This type of weather system is about all we can hope for this time of year.

I haven't been posting any finds, because I haven't been finding anything to post. The last rain my collecting spots had was 1/4" on June 11th, and NOTHING since. 27th of July today, and we had over 100 degrees for 25 of them. Everything is dying, creeks are all bone dry, tall trees are turning brown.

Come on Don, make it up here with some SERIOUS rain!!
