What the #$#@%^ is up with TreasureNet?

I got an email from TN today with a solicitation and a link to join a political debate on the state of the country. Putting my opinions on the state of the US of A aside for a moment....first, don't spam me and second, don't assume I want to debate politics (and if I was forced to the LAST place would be on an artifact forum).

PS If I give the impression that I hate spam you are correct

It had all the appearances of a spoof or hack to me. I didn't click on it. You could easily end up on a clone of treasurenet having viruses downloaded.

I remember ebay had quite a time with fake emails for a while.

I used a specific email address for every site I frequent on the web (courtesy of Yahoo's instant address feature) and the email to me from TN came via the address that is only listed with them for my registration. Also Norton 360 says the link is good. I think they are just trying to drum up traffic. To heck with 'em. Never like the site anyway.

T-net wasn't too bad years ago, but it went downhill.

I got the same one and responded that I don't debate politics or religion because you can't win at either subject and all that happens is ill feelings.

Mine came from the guy that started the thread, Maybe we should report him to T-Net and let them handle it. I'll send a PM to FelinePeachy, one of the Mods over there. Mia seems to be very level headed and probably won't tolerate this kind of behavior.

That site is about done anyway, as far as the artifact board. There are only a small few who even post there anymore and I have seen it go days without a new post or thread.

All of the good finds there are from members who post their finds here anyway, so it's about pointless for artifacts. Making the artifact forum a sub-forum not long ago sort of hid it, not a good move.
It's what I was on before I found this place, now I'll pop in once in a while but seldom post over there.
Still a pretty good site for metal detecting and coin roll hunting though.

Yeah, I visited there a lot more often when I was doing more Civil War detecting than Indian relic hunting.
