Concealed Weapons Permit
I decided to apply for a concealed carry weapons permit here in California to be in compliance with the law. And to protect myself and family. It started back on April 17, 2011 with a training certificate $140 dollars this was a safety class and a requirement. Then a live scan and interview with the sheriffs department this was a $110 dollars and couple more months. Then a interview with the detectives department another 30 days or so. I received a confirmation of issue for august 23 at 10 am. What a hassle to protect my self and family. I always carried a loaded firearm with me when traveling or out hunting by law your weapon needs to be empty and in a locked case when traveling a lot of good it does empty and locked up. Its about money and fees it doesn't end because of renewal fees. What happened to our rights I guess this turned into a rant.

I have had one for years and the process will continue to get more expensive as you go on. Another hassle is yearly qualifying with the sidearm(s) you are listed to carry. Carry ONLY those on the permit and make sure that, if requested, that you make it clear to any LEO that you are armed. No need to lock up your gun.

I've been licensed for years in Conn. to carry...I thought it was one of the most stringent states for laws until I realized Ca. was even more of a nightmare!!....we should all be more like Tx or Az!!

I agree Massac. Illinois is the ONLY state in the union without this, all because of Chicago.

Wow Dennis I didn't even know it was possible in CA! I mean, I know it's on the books but I thought it was like, yeah right try and get one. I think I'll do that also.

What's that?......why carry a gun you ask?....
1. A cop is just too heavy to carry 2. Some folks just need shootin 3. When seconds count, the police are just minutes away those are just a few reasons I carry!
