Following is part of an email my mom received from HS classmates:

We received the following very tragic news
from the Green Forest, AR 1959 Class agent.* Tommy Ratzlaff's father, Ben
Ratzlaff, died on 4 October 2010 at age 68 from injuries that resulted
from*an automobile accident; (see obituary for Benjamin Arthur Ratzlaff
below).

Tragedy has once again struck this family and
their friends.*

Classmates of GFHS '59,

We have received confirmation that Tommy Ratzlaff, son of Nancy
and the late Ben Ratzlaff, our classmate, was killed in action over Afghanistan
today. *According to news media reports, a helicopter was shot down by
enemy fire. *It was carrying 31 U.S. Special Forces troops, including more
than 20 Navy Seals from SEAL Team Six of which Tommy was a member. *Further
information will be forthcoming and passed on as we learn more.

Please keep Nancy and her family in your prayers as they deal with this
tragic loss of their loved one, Tommy, a true American Hero.

Thanks PLS, such a tragic story, so much pain and loss for one family! Will keep Nancy and her family in my prayers also. Yes Tommy is a true American hero! He is in a better place now, but gone to soon, for sure! Joyce
